Partnering with the awesome folks over at Roger I was tasked with with creating the concept for CNN's Original's new docu-series, The History of Comedy. Two teasers and a 30 second promotional spot were created along with extensive digital and out of home assets.

The concept: what if comedy was high art?
Dozens of humorous takes on famous comedy spots were recontextualized into their new mediums - Milton's stapler from Office Space as contemporary uber-sculpture, the installation of Nigel Tufnell's amplifier from This Is Spinal Tap that "Goes to eleven", and the pièce de résistance - The giant marble statue of Chris Farley from the infamous SNL sketch "Chippendale Audition" in all its glory.
The live action spots combined practical, CG and digitally painted elements in a real life art gallery setting.

Created for Deep Focus Agency and utilizing found footage, the Nike SNKRS app and Jordan brand manifesto videos were presented natively in Instagram on this winning pitch for the AOR accounts.

The concept for for the main title sequence for Netflix Original Series, Narcos, was shaped through discussions with show creators and extensive research into the histories of Narcos trafficking. With the beautiful title track - Rodrigo Amarante’s “Tuyo” - as a starting point, the desire was to bring an authenticity to the visuals that complemented the themes and mood of the show.
Using a vibrant palette and seamlessly blending the worlds of created and curated imagery, a voyeuristic and sensual aesthetic was developed, that merged the visual languages of reportage and the lavish excess of the time.
Directing a team of designers, animators and VFX artists, shot plates were united with design and animation, then layered with archival photography, typography, and visual effects. Sources varied wildly in origin and quality. Difficult to obtain shots were either sourced or painstakingly re-created. It included high speed footage and 5K plates shot on location in Bogota, Colombia and LA, and film and video archival imagery - including photography that was sourced in person from the vaults of Escobar's personal photographer "El Chino”.

Directed for Netflix this teaser is for the upcoming drama, Narcos - a conceptual look into the worlds of power, powder and geo-politics.
Combining high speed live action plates and extensive CG elements and particle and liquid simulations. Creating a moody macro subterranean atmosphere, that sets the tone for the the upcoming series. Delivered in 4K.
Narcos is the true story of U.S. and Colombian efforts in the 1980s to battle the infamous Pablo Escobar and the Medellin drug cartel, one of the richest, most ruthless criminal organizations in the history of modern crime.
Creative direction for The MTV VMAs. Included all show, nominee package and theatrical elements.
The inspiration came from the strange beauty of both the natural and manmade landscapes that surround Los Angeles and the United States. Photography captured on location in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii and Minnesota. this and nominee packages were digitally vandalized to disrupting effect.

To launch the new VW Beetle convertible in conjunction with Discovery Channel Sharkweek, I directed a series of street art inspired stop-motion Vines that went from concept to execution in 3 days.
Utilizing a homemade programmable motion control rig, zipties and some available eames chairs. A quick 3am test with dancing chairs and skating CG artists as elements.
